Avista Begins Priest Lake Drawdown
Idaho Department of Water Resources determines timing

SPOKANE, Wash. – Oct 2, 2007: Avista will begin the annual draw down of Priest Lake on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007. The Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) determines when the drawdown of Priest Lake will commence each year. Avista operates the Priest Lake Dam, which regulates the lake level on behalf of the IDWR.

The water level at Priest Lake is expected to drop three feet to reach its winter level by early November. Shoreline owners and boaters should be aware of the annual draft so they can make any necessary preparations, including removing boats from water and securing docks for low-water conditions.
