Avista Begins Summer Operation at Post Falls
Boat ramp at Q'emiln Park to open Friday, closes next Tuesday

Spokane, Wash., May 26// -- Avista Utilities has begun normal summer operations at the Post Falls Hydroelectric Development by closing the spill gates on the dam. The boat ramp at Q'emiln (Ka-mee-lin) Park will open May 27 through May 30.

On May 31, the boat ramp will be closed until June 5 to accommodate the annual Post Falls Days event that is held in the park. Re-opening the boat ramp is expected on June 7, subject to weather conditions.

The level of Coeur d'Alene Lake is currently at the normal summer elevation. Avista will attempt to maintain a level of 2,128 ft. above sea level through Labor Day. Heavy precipitation may require opening the spill gates to avoid flooding. In that case city regulations require that the boat ramp be closed until the spill gates are shut again.
