Avista Continues Upgrading Equipment Serving Customers in St. Joe River Valley
Work requires a power outage on August 4, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

July 27, 2010: About 429 Avista customers in the St. Joe River Valley will experience a power outage on August 4, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. as Avista crews continue upgrading equipment serving the area to ensure reliable service.

The outages will affect customers on St. Joe River Road (NFD50) at mile marker 15 to Avery, Idaho.

Lamont Miles, Avista’s district manager for St. Maries, said the company is investing over $50,000 to replace dated transformers, move power lines and set a new power pole with the aid of a helicopter.

“There have been several power outages this summer as crews have worked to upgrade aging equipment. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience,” Miles said. “We encourage customers to update their phone number online at www.avistautilities.com or by calling Avista at (800) 227-9187 to receive future outage notifications by phone.”
