Avista Converting Overhead Line to Underground near Avery
Work requires a power outage on Nov. 12, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Nov. 2, 2010: About 98 Avista customers in Avery, Idaho, will experience a power outage on Nov. 12, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. as Avista crews convert a 1.3-mile stretch of existing overhead power line along Old River Road to a new underground system.

Lamont Miles, Avista’s district manager for St. Maries, said the company is investing over $100,000 in the new underground system to reduce weather and tree-related outages in the area.

“There have been several power outages this summer in Avery as crews have worked to upgrade aging equipment and convert to new underground systems. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience,” Miles said. “We encourage customers to update their phone number online at www.avistautilities.com or by calling Avista at (800) 227-9187 to receive future outage notifications by phone.”
