Avista Corp. Names Directors to Lead Corporate Communications and Energy Solutions

SPOKANE, Wash., Nov. 28 // -- Avista Corp. (NYSE: AVA) has named Linda M. Jones as director of corporate communications, effective Dec. 12. Jones replaces Patrick Lynch, who was recently promoted as director of energy solutions for Avista.

In her new position as director of corporate communications for Avista Corp., Jones will be responsible for leading Avista's strategic communications with key external and internal stakeholder groups.

A native of Spokane, Jones joins Avista from Grant County PUD in Ephrata, Wash., where she served in a variety of positions during her 15-year career with the utility, most recently serving as director of communications and external affairs. Prior to joining Grant County PUD, Jones was employed at ISC Systems Corporation and Old National Bank, both formerly in Spokane.

Jones, a graduate of Washington State University, is a member of the board of directors of National Hydropower Association where she also serves as chair of the public affairs committee and is a member of Northwest Hydropower Association. She has also served on the board of directors for Granco Federal Credit Union in Ephrata, Wash., and served on the Business Applications Advisory Committee for Spokane Falls Community College.

Jones and her husband, Larry, are relocating to Spokane and are the parents of three children.

As director of energy solutions, Lynch, a 23-year employee of Avista, is responsible for leading the company's energy efficiency programs in three states, commercial and industrial account management, as well as marketing, product and service development, and corporate sponsorships. Prior to his promotion, Lynch served as director of corporate communications for Avista Corp. for five years.

Active in community and industry associations, Lynch is a member of the board of directors for Inland Northwest Health Services Foundation, Spokane Youth Sports Association and the SYSA Foundation. He serves as a member of the communications advisory board for the Northwest Gas Association. Lynch is also a member of Washington State University Marketing Advisory Board for the College of Business and Economics, the Public Relations Society of America and Spokane Public Relations Council.

Lynch, a graduate of Gonzaga University, and his wife, Suzanne, live in Spokane and are the parents of three daughters.
