Avista Crews Wrapping Up Service Restoration
About 311 customers are without electrical service at 3:30 p.m., down from 11,000 Wednesday morning

SPOKANE, Wash., Jan. 11 /3:30 p.m.: Most of Avista Utilities’ customers who lost electrical power following the recent storms have been returned to service. At 3:30 p.m. today, approximately 311 customers remained without power, down for a storm high early Wednesday morning of 11,000. Areas still experiencing outages are:

Coeur d’Alene – 5
Davenport - 25
Kellogg – 34
Deer Park/Loon Lake – 4
Spokane area - 18
Colville – 185
Clark Fork - 40

Avista anticipates that most customers will have their power restored sometime tonight; however, some customers with more extensive storm damage will be out of service until tomorrow. Customers still without power on Thursday morning are asked to call Avista at (800) 227-9187 to report the outage.

Don Kopczynski, vice president of transmission and distribution operations for Avista Utilities, said crews and support personnel have done an outstanding job in restoring power to such a large number of customers.

“We appreciate the patience of our customers who lost power during these storms. Our team has been working around the clock since the storms first hit the area, and we’ll stay focused on our goal until all customers have their service restored.‿ Kopczynski said.
