Avista Featuring Energy Efficiency Products and the Avista Sun Car at Moscow Building Supply
Free CFLs and low-flow shower heads for customers while supplies last

Avista invites families to stop by Moscow Building Supply on Saturday to pick up a free compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) and low-flow shower head while supplies last. Avista representatives will be on hand to answer energy efficiency questions and provide information on the company’s many rebate programs.

The Avista Sun Car (http://www.everylittlebit.com/SunCar.aspx) will also be on display at the event. The sun car is Toyota Prius hybrid that has been converted into a plug-in electric car powered by solar panels located at Avista’s corporate offices in Spokane. They’re part of a project Avista is conducting to help the company explore renewable energy options for customers and to provide information about incorporating renewable energy into customers’ daily lives.

Event Details:

·          Saturday, June 13, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

·          Moscow Building Supply, 760 N. Main St., Moscow, Idaho

·          This event is FREE!

“At Avista, we are always looking for ways to help our customers save energy,” said Bruce Folsom, Avista’s director of energy efficiency. “Using CFLs means you don’t have to change light bulbs as often, saving time and lowering overall energy costs, plus they’re good for our environment.”

Lighting accounts for about a quarter of our nation’s energy consumption. CFLs use up to 75 percent less energy than incandescent bulbs, but provide the same amount of light. They are more efficient in their use of energy, turning more of their energy into light and less into heat, and can be used throughout a home in a variety of wattages. CFLs last up to seven times longer than an incandescent bulb (7,000 hours vs. 1,000 hours).
