Avista Joins Others to Help Kids Swim This Summer

As part of its commitment to being an active partner in the communities it serves, Avista has made a $5,000 donation to the Spokane Parks Foundation to provide swim passes for low income children. The donation is part of a community-wide initiative led by the Parks Foundation to assure that all children have the opportunity to swim this summer.

“We are pleased to join with other businesses in the Greater Spokane area who are helping children who may not otherwise be able to swim and play in the new aquatic facilities,” said Anne Marie Axworthy, Avista’s director of Community Development. “We hope that other businesses will agree that kids and swimming are a long-time summer tradition in Spokane and become partners in providing funds to support the swim pass program.”

Funds for this donation come through Avista shareholder dollars.
