Avista Names Kermit Olson as Operations Manager for Colville
Former manager, Marshall Law, named regional electrical engineer

Avista Utilities has named Kermit Olson construction manager for Colville, Wash.  In his new role, Olson will oversee all aspects of Avista’s electric and natural gas operations for the roughly 17,500 customers in Avista’s service territory in Ferry and Stevens counties, stretching from Deer Lake to the Canadian border and from Pend Oreille to Inchelium.

Olson has been a resident of the Colville area for nearly 25 years and has been a lineman and assistant construction manager in the Colville area during his 25-year career with Avista. He has been a long-time volunteer with youth-related community service organizations, including youth sports, community 4-H and Future Farmers of America groups. Olson is an alumnus of Washington State University.

“Kermit brings a solid background in electric operations, coupled with a strong desire for community involvement,” said Don Kopczynski, vice president of transmission and distribution operations for Avista Utilities. “We believe he will be a great leader for our operations in the Colville area.”

“I feel a dedication and allegiance to the customers in Avista’s Colville service territory. I’m pleased to continue working with the committed employees of Avista in the Colville valley,” Olson said.

Olson and his wife have strong family ties in the Colville area, dating back to the early to mid-1900s. They have two grown children who graduated from Colville High School.

Former Colville Operations Manager Marshall Law will continue his involvement with the Colville community in his new role as regional electrical engineer for Avista.
