About 2,700 Avista customers around Lake Roosevelt in Stevens and Ferry counties will experience a series of four planned outages as the company continues work on upgrading power poles to increase service reliability in the area.
The planned outages will be on consecutive Thursdays – Sept. 17, Sept. 24, Oct. 1 and Oct. 8 – and will last from 10:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m.
Areas that will be impacted by the planned outages are:
· Stevens County – Cedonia, Daisy, Fruitland, Gifford, Hunters, Rice, Two Rivers and West End. Also, the Summit Valley area west of the Addy Gifford Road and Swiss Valley Road intersection, including Addy-Gifford Road, Addy Cedonia Road, Summit Valley Roads, Swiss Valley Road, Clark Lake Road, Egland Road, Gilson Road, Forsland Road, Grimm Road, Burgess Road, and other side roads in the Summit Valley area.
· Ferry County – Inchelium area from Nine Mile Creek north to Barnaby Creek, including the Twin Lakes area.
During the four scheduled outages, existing power lines will be de-energize and moved to new taller steel poles recently installed along the Addy-Gifford Road. Replacing the aged infrastructure will increase service reliability for customers living in the area.
“We apologize for the inconvenience these outages will have and thank our customers for their patience and understanding as we finish construction on this project,” said Marshall Law, Avista Colville operations manager. ”This upgrade will ensure that we’re able to reliably meet the energy needs of our customers in this area for years to come.”
