Avista Schedules Second Outage in Spirit Lake for Tuesday, Nov. 14
Crews will complete work on upgrades to substation serving Spirit Lake

SPOKANE, Wash. – Nov. 10, 2006: Avista customers in Spirit Lake and the surrounding area, including both sides of the lake, will experience a disruption in their electrical service on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, from 3:30 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. as Avista crews complete work on upgrades to the substation serving the area.

This is the final phase of the $400,000 project which will double the capacity of Avista’s Spirit Lake substation in order to meet projected customer growth in the area over the next 10 years. Currently Avista serves about 1,300 customers in Spirit Lake and the surrounding area.

“We appreciate the patience of our customers who will experience a second interruption in their service as this project wraps up,” said Marc Schaffner, Avista operations manager. “Customers with special considerations are encouraged to make alternative arrangements during this time.”
