Avista Utilities Reports Outages from Today's Wind Storm
To report an outage or downed power line to Avista, call customer service at (800) 227-91

Spokane, Wash., March 16// -- High winds blowing trees and limbs into power lines caused a number of power outages this afternoon. As of 4:00 p.m. today, 785 Avista Utilities customers in the following areas were without service:

Deer Park/Loon Lake – 272
Central Spokane – 12
East Valley – 3
North Spokane – 7
North Central Spokane – 203
South Hill – 211
Total Spokane – 708

Other scattered outages include Davenport (40), Othello (1), Pullman (10), Coeur d'Alene/Rathdrum (23) and Sandpoint (2).

The number of outages is expected to fluctuate throughout the evening as customers returning home from work report outages and as the storm continues to move though the area. With the extent of the outages continuing to unfold, there is no estimate at this time as to when service will be restored. However, Avista crews will continue working through the evening until all service has been restored.

Avista Utilities reminds the public to report an outage or downed power line or by calling (800) 227-9187. When reporting an outage, relay any information that can help determine the cause of the outage, such as a sound heard or something visual. Never touch or attempt to remove fallen limbs from downed or sagging power lines. Treat all power lines as if they are energized, or carrying electrical current. Remember to keep all children and pets away from the area.
