Avista VP Roger Woodworth Appointed to Clean Energy Leadership Council
15-member council created to guide public-private clean energy initiatives

Washington Governor Chris Gregoire has appointed Avista Vice President for Sustainable Energy Resources Roger Woodworth to the newly formed Clean Energy Leadership Council. The 15-member council was formed to help guide a collaborative effort between the governor’s office and a public-private clean energy alliance.

Woodworth brings a range of experience on clean energy issues. He is a frequent speaker on sustainable energy topics and recently presented the keynote address to U.S. and Canadian business leaders at the Pacific Northwest Economic Region Summit in Boise. Woodworth has served as chair of the City of Spokane’s Sustainability Task Force. He is board vice-chair of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Task Force and participates in other similar energy forums.

In his role as a member of the Clean Energy Leadership Council, Woodworth hopes to help align various efforts through a statewide energy strategy.

“There are a lot of clean energy activities underway in our state, but we don’t yet have a unified initiative,” said Woodworth. “We can assure a sustainable future if we get everyone pulling on the rope, in the same direction, at the same time.”
