Avista customers north of Spokane to Loon Lake to be impacted by BPA maintenance work
Power outages will occur from 5:00 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 25 and Sept. 27

Sept. 21, 2012: Over 3,100 Avista customers from West Ballard Road north of Spokane to Loon Lake will experience two planned power outages while the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) performs necessary maintenance on their equipment located in the Avista substation serving the area. The outage parameters also includes the area from west of Highway 395 to Highway 2.

The first outage will occur on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 5:00 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. with the second outage occurring on Thursday, Sept. 27, also from 5:00 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. The outage is necessary to create a safe environment for BPA crews to work, as well as for Avista crews who will use the opportunity to perform preventative maintenance on its equipment.

“Performing maintenance on our equipment during the planned outage for BPA’s work will help ensure the reliability of service to our customers, and -avoid a future planned outage. All crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to return our customers to service,” said Frank Binder, Avista’s Deer Park district manager. “We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers and encourage those with special considerations to make alternative arrangements during this time.”
