Avista equipment upgrades to interrupt electric service in St. Maries area
Avista crews upgrading equipment to ensure reliability and increase safety

June 22, 2012: Avista customers located above the 2.8 mile marker on St. Joe River Road in St. Maries, Idaho will experience a planned power outage on Thursday, June 28, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. while crews work to upgrade electric equipment serving 735 customers in the area.
The outage is necessary to allow Avista crews to work in a safe environment as they replace over one-half mile of power lines and relocate 10 poles outside the river floodplain. The work is being done to ensure service reliability and to raise the height of the power lines to increase safety during high river levels.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience this work may have on our customers. Our promise is crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore service to our customers,” said Larry Hager, Avista’s St. Maries manager.
