Avista to Distribute Free Energy Efficient Light Bulbs and Weatherization Items at Huckleberry Heritage Festival

SPOKANE, Wash. - Aug. 15, 2007:  Visitors to this weekend’s Huckleberry Heritage Festival in Wallace are invited to stop by the Avista booth to pick up a free energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) and home weatherization items as long as the supply lasts.

Additionally, Avista staff will be answering questions on energy efficiency and conservation and demonstrating ways customers can reduce energy consumption in their homes.
CFLs, for example, use 75 percent less electricity than regular light bulbs and last up to seven times longer.
“It’s surprisingly easy to increase the energy efficiency of the average home,” said Camille Martin, program manager for Avista. “For example, sealing exterior doors is an easy and cost effective way to dramatically reduce heating and cooling loss.  We’re looking forward to the events in Pullman and to sharing tips, answering questions and helping customers find ways to manage their energy use.”
