Avista to Relocate Underground Power Lines in North Spokane
Work will require road closures on Monroe St. during two-month period

Spokane, Wash.: SPOKANE, Wash. Aug. 22, 2007: Avista will begin relocation of underground transmission cables and other utility services from Post Street, through the Kendall Yards Development, to the College and Walnut Substation. Road impacts to Monroe Street will begin in early September and continue for approximately two months.

Once complete the project will enhance reliability of electrical service to the West Central neighborhood and will provide power for the new Kendall Yards development. Other utility providers will also relocate and upgrade their underground services during the relocation project.

From Sept. 4 until Oct. 1, the east half of Monroe Street at Bridge Avenue will be closed. Access to parking areas in the vicinity of Bridge Avenue will be from Lincoln Street All closures will be effective 24 hours per day.

Beginning Oct. 2 until Nov. 2 the west half of Monroe Street at Bridge Avenue will be closed. Access to parking areas in the vicinity of Bridge Avenue will be open from Bridge.

Drivers are advised to watch for signage, use caution and anticipate delays in the vicinity.
