Avista working to restore power in Davenport area
Weather causing area outages

Avista crews are working to restore power to approximately 2,000 customers still without electricity in Lincoln County.

Crews have already restored power to more than half of approximately 3,800 customers who experienced outages in the Davenport area. Towns continuing to experience outages include Davenport, Wilbur, Creston and Almira, and there are widespread individual scattered outages.

The power outages are weather-related and began yesterday as freezing fog and rain caused ice to begin accumulating on power lines and trees. Local crews have been working on the outages since they began, and several crews from Spokane have responded to the area to assist. Currently there is no estimated time for complete restoration, as weather conditions continue to cause outages in the area.

Avista continues to urge customers to stay away from all downed utility lines, as they may be energized power lines. To report a downed power line or an outage, call Avista at 800-227-9187. Avista’s automated phone system can provide additional information if you are part of a larger known outage. Once outages are reported, they can be tracked online at http://www.avistautilities.com/safety/outages/pages/default.aspx.
