Spokane, Wash.: Spokane, Wash., March 1, 2007 – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Advantage IQ, Inc. a 2007 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award in recognition of its continued leadership in protecting our environment through energy efficiency. Advantage IQ’s accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 21, 2007.
Advantage IQ, a subsidiary of Avista Corp. (NYSE: AVA), and an ENERGY STAR partner since 2004, is being honored for its ongoing commitment to energy efficiency by providing services and products that help businesses and organizations adopt smart energy practices. Across the U.S., top companies and organizations are continuing to promote energy efficiency through participation in ENERGY STAR. Last year alone, according to EPA, Americans with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved $14 billion on their energy bills and reduced greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of more than 25 million vehicles.
“We continue to assist organizations nationwide in their commitment to reduce energy consumption and protect the environment through our energy management services and automated benchmarking for ENERGY STAR,” said Stu Stiles, president and CEO of Advantage IQ. “Energy efficiency is a primary concern for our clients. Participating in ENERGY STAR plays a vital role in our organization and in protecting the planet.”
The 2007 Sustained Excellence Awards are given to a select group of organizations that have consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership. These award recipients have set and achieved aggressive goals, employed innovative approaches, and shown others what can be achieved through energy efficiency. These awards recognize ongoing leadership across the ENERGY STAR program including energy-efficient products, services, new homes and in the commercial, industrial and public sectors. Award winners are selected from thousands of organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.
“Partners like Advantage IQ are outstanding leaders in protecting our environment through energy efficiency,” said Bill Wehrum, acting assistant administrator for EPA's Office of Air and Radiation. "As one of the 2007 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence winners, Advantage IQ has taken energy efficiency to new heights year after year and we all benefit.”
“We’ve seen first hand how ENERGY STAR adds increased value to Advantage IQ’s clients. As energy costs continue to rise, strategic energy management is a priority for more and more companies,” said Ed Schlect, Advantage IQ vice president, corporate development. “Our clients actively utilize our system for managing these and other facility related costs.
