Eastern Oregon Cities Receive Computers from Avista
Donation of surplus technology will benefit municipalities with limited budgets

SPOKANE, Wash.  August 16, 2011: The eastern Oregon cities of Cove, Imbler, North Powder, Summerville and Union each received a laptop and monitor through a donation from Avista Utilities. The Itronix “Go Books” were previously used as part of the utility’s mobile dispatch service and are being retired through the company’s technology refresh program.
“Avista has been and continues to be a good working partner for the Imbler community and northeast Oregon. We greatly appreciate this donation of technology that will help our cities provide enhanced services to our citizens,” said Mike McLean, mayor of Imbler.
“While there is an unlimited number of possible non-profit and educational recipients for these kinds of donations, we chose these municipalities because of their size, extremely limited capital budgets and, most especially, for their partnership with our utility in serving the public,” said Steve Vincent, Oregon regional business manager for Avista. “We’re pleased to be able to repurpose and extend the usefulness of these computers as well as help the cities improve the efficient flow of work.”
