Equipment Upgrades Require Power Outage for Avista Customers in Wilbur, Creston and Almira Areas
Outage will occur between 10:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, until 6:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21

Oct. 18, 2011: Almost 1,200 Avista customers in the towns of Wilbur, Creston, Almira and all surrounding communities will experience a planned power outage from 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 21. Avista crews will be upgrading transmission equipment and power lines that serve the area.
 
Also impacted by the planned outage will be customers in Govan, Jump Canyon, Jones Bay and the Hanson Harbor area, including customers north of Hwy. 2 between Wilbur and Almira and those along Haden Road, Sherman Draw Road and Martin Canyon.
 
“We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers and encourage those with special considerations to make alternative arrangements during this time frame. Our crews will work as quickly and safely as possible so that customers will have their service restored with minimum inconvenience,” said Steve Aubuchon, Avista’s Davenport district manager.
