Equipment Upgrades Require Power Outage for Avista’s Davenport Customers
Outage will occur overnight on Thursday, August 12

Aug. 10, 2010: About 1,200 Avista customers in Davenport and the surrounding area will experience a power outage on Thursday, Aug. 12, beginning at 10:00 p.m. and lasting until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 13. Avista crews will be replacing poles, power lines and equipment as part of a $200,000 upgrade to the electrical substation serving the Davenport area.

Areas impacted by the service interruption will be the town of Davenport, the rural areas from town east to Bennett and Schumer roads, south to Zellmer Road and north to Olson Hills Road.

Steve Aubuchon, district manager for Davenport, said the outage is scheduled at a time that should have the least impact on customers.

“We know any interruption in electrical service is an inconvenience for our customers; however, proper equipment maintenance is important in providing on-going reliable service,” Aubuchon said.  “We apologize for the outage and encourage customers with special considerations to make alternative arrangements during this time.”
