Imposter Attempts to Gain Access to Spokane Resident's Home
Verify utility workers' identification before allowing anyone access to your home

Spokane, Wash., September 27// -- Avista Utilities has received a report of an individual posing as a company employee in an attempt to gain access to a home in Spokane.

To prevent becoming a victim, homeowners and tenants are advised to obtain identification from anyone requesting access to their home. If the individual does not have identification, offer to schedule an appointment with him or her at a better time and contact the company the imposter claims to represent to check the legitimacy of the individual.

Most importantly, report suspicious schemes to local law enforcement officials.
