Kootenai Health receives $45,000 grant from the Avista Foundation for the healthcare facility’s expansion program
Avista Foundation announces a single round of grants totaling $81,500 for 2015

Aug. 5, 2015: With a growing population nearing 150,000, Kootenai County, Idaho, is building on its well-deserved reputation as a great place to live, work and play. Area residents are looking for high quality healthcare, closer to home than the 45-minute drive to Spokane, and Kootenai Health is poised to meet the community’s needs. The Avista Foundation is proud to donate $45,000 over three years to Kootenai Health in support of its capital campaign for facility expansion.

“Kootenai’s greatest desire is to provide access to the highest levels of health care for patients, close to home,” said Shawn Bassham, president of Kootenai Health Foundation. “With this capital campaign, we’ll be able to offer services like a family birth center with a dedicated neonatal intensive care unit right here in our residents’ home town. We greatly appreciate Avista’s commitment to Kootenai County, and the health and well-being of its citizens.”

“At Avista, we are proud to call the Inland Northwest our home, and we know that one key to healthy communities is providing the quality and quantity of healthcare services that are needed for all of its citizens,” said Patty Shea, Avista regional business manager for northern Idaho. “The capital campaign to fund the expansion of facilities and programs will set Kootenai Health well on its way to achieving its vision of becoming a comprehensive regional medical center by 2020. Avista is proud to be a partner in this endeavor.”
