Latisha Hill appointed to Washington Transportation Commission


Washington Governor Chris Gregoire has appointed Latisha Hill, regional research and project manager at Avista, to the seven-member Washington State Transportation Commission. Hill has a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Eastern Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Washington State University. She is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Spokane.

The state Transportation Commission serves as a public forum for transportation policy development and provides guidance and recommendations to the governor on issues such as transportation funding, transportation infrastructure needs, planning and coordination among transportation agencies and providers, and climate change initiatives and environmental impacts of transportation.

Hill currently serves as vice president of the Inland Empire Chapter, American Planning Association, and as co-chair of the City of Spokane Mayor’s Sustainability Work Group for Transportation and Mobility. In addition, she is an active board member on the City of Spokane Community Development Board, Greater Spokane Public Policy Committee, West Plains Chamber of Commerce and Community Minded Enterprises. She is also a member of Links, Inc.
