Nine Mile Dam Safety Cable Broken
Boaters are urged to stay out of the river near the dam

Logs and other large debris from spring runoff have broken a boater safety cable immediately upstream of Nine Mile Dam. River users are asked to stay out of the water between Plese Flats and the dam until the cable can be repaired.

Due to high runoff, the river is moving very quickly and making repairs may be difficult. Efforts are underway to evaluate the situation and determine a safe course of action.

The boat launch at Plese Flats has been closed and signage is being put in place to warn boaters.
