North Idaho College receives Avista Foundation grant in support of new Career and Technical Education learning facility


SPOKANE, Wash. April 19, 2016: The Inland Northwest is experiencing a rising demand for highly skilled workers to meet the needs of current and emerging industries. North Idaho College, based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is committed to offering the best training programs for area individuals to fill these job openings. The Avista Foundation has announced a grant of $10,000 in support of the new Career and Technical Education facility at North Idaho College.


“Today’s work force needs a solid foundation in the skilled trades to meet the needs of a wide variety of industries. Avista is committed to supporting technical education programs and the key role they play in the economic vitality of our region,” said Patty Shea, Avista regional business manager for northern Idaho. “North Idaho College has an experienced faculty and a solid tradition of providing excellence in higher education programs that have benefitted students and industry throughout northern Idaho.”
