Nine municipal and non-profit organizations in the Medford, Ore., area will be the recipients of retired service vehicles donated by Avista Utilities. On Wednesday, May 19, the keys to the donated vehicles will be turned over to representatives of the groups at an event at the Avista Utilities Medford office, located at 580 Business Park Drive, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The recipients of the donated vehicles are City of Eagle Point, City of Myrtle Creek, City of Riddle, City of Rogue River, Boys and Girls Club of Rogue Valley (for the club at White City), Wildlife Images, Mobility Unlimited, City of Phoenix and Upper Rogue Community Center.
“This donation comes at a time when we are struggling through significant budget challenges, and replacing a service vehicle is an expense that would be very hard for most of us to manage,” said Danette McCain, executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley. “The retired Avista vehicle will have a second life as it helps us continue our work to meet the needs of our club members.”
“We value the partnerships we have with the municipalities and non-profit groups in the communities we serve. Donating retired vehicles is one way that Avista can support the important work they do to enhance the quality of life for Oregon residents,” said Steve Vincent, Avista Utilities regional business manager for Oregon.
