Planned Outage Will Interrupt Service for Avista Customers in Culdesac and Lapwai Areas
Avista crews will be working through the night performing maintenance on equipment serving the area

March 4, 2011:
Avista is advising customers in the Culdesac and Lapwai areas along Highway 95 of a planned power outage that will interrupt service beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, and ending at 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8.

The four hour outage will affect approximately 770 Avista customers, along with some Clearwater Power customers. The outage is necessary to allow Avista crews to work in a safe environment as they perform maintenance on equipment in the Sweetwater Substation to ensure reliability and to meet growing customer demand.

“Avista is committed to providing our customers with safe, reliable power. In order to fulfill that commitment, our crews will work as quickly and safely as possible through the night to perform the needed maintenance. We apologized for the inconvenience to our customers and encourage those with special considerations to make alternative arrangements during this time frame,” said Tim Olson, Avista’s region operations engineer.
