Planned Outage Will Interrupt Service for Avista Customers in Elk River, Bovill, Deary, Helmer and Troy
Avista crews will be working through the night upgrading equipment serving the area

March 31, 2011:
Avista is advising customers in the towns of Elk River, Bovill, Deary, Helmer and Troy and some rural customer outside Moscow, Idaho, of a planned power outage that will interrupt service from 1:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1.

The four hour outage will affect about 1,000 Avista customers. The outage is necessary to allow Avista crews to work in a safe environment as they upgrade equipment in the substation serving the area. The substation upgrades are needed to ensure reliable electric service and to meet growing customer demand.

“Avista is committed to providing our customers with safe, reliable power. In order to fulfill that commitment, our crews will work as quickly and safely as possible through the night to upgrade equipment in our Deary Substation which serves customers in the area. We apologized for the inconvenience and encourage customers with special considerations to make alternative arrangements during this time frame,” said Jenny Blaylock, Avista’s operations manager for Idaho’s Latah County.
