Planned Outage to Affect Communities near Lake Roosevelt
Project will allow safe work on electric system improvements

Spokane, Wash.: SPOKANE, Wash. July 17, 2007: Avista and the Bonneville Power Administration will be performing repair and maintenance work near Gifford, Wash. This work will require an outage of approximately 9 hours beginning at midnight on Sunday, July 22, 2007.

The outage is necessary for the safety of crews that will be working on transmission and distribution lines feeding the Gifford Substation and related areas. This project is intended to assure reliability of service to the surrounding region.

Communities that will be affected on the east side of Lake Roosevelt in Stevens County include: Rice, Daisy, Gifford, Cedonia, Hunters, Fruitland, West End, and Two Rivers. On the west side of Lake Roosevelt in Ferry County the outage will affect the Inchelium area from Nine Mile Creek on the south to Barnaby Creek on the north, including the Twin Lakes area.
