Post Falls Boat Ramp Open for Summer
Weather conditions allow closure of spill gates at Post Falls Dam

Avista Utilities has closed the spill gates at the Post Falls Hydroelectric Development for normal summer operations. The boat ramp at Q’emiln (Ka-mee-lin) Park on the Spokane River will now remain open for the remainder of the season, subject to weather conditions.

Heavy precipitation may require opening the spill gates to avoid flooding. In that case city regulations require that the boat ramp be closed until the spill gates are shut again.

The level of Coeur d’Alene Lake is nearing the normal summer elevation. Avista will attempt to maintain a level of 2,128 ft. above sea level through Labor Day.
