Youth Organizations in Sander’s County, Montana Awarded with Grant Funds from Avista

May 20, 2011
: Six youth programs in western Montana will receive support in the first round of grants being made from the Avista Fund in the Montana Community Foundation. The grants are intended to directly benefit youth organizations in and around Sanders County, Montana.

In 2009, Avista started the Avista Fund with the Montana Community Foundation as part of our ongoing commitment to being a good neighbor in the communities around our Clark Fork project, which includes Noxon Rapids and Cabinet Gorge Dams on the Clark Fork River. In 2011 up to $15,000 will be granted to qualified local youth organizations. A second round of grants will take place in October.

Funding for these grants comes from company profits and is not paid for by customers.

“We’re very pleased to help support these youth programs that provide important opportunities for the children of Sanders County. We are committed to building close relationships with our communities and are active partners in improving the quality of life wherever we conduct business,” said President of Avista Utilities, Dennis Vermillion.
